Welcome Spring?

I’m reluctant to write that because just when we get comfortable, then we get a dump of snow. But our 10 day forecast has 63 as the lowest temperature during the day, so I’ll take a chance.

We’ve already been enjoying the sunshine. Oli is the happiest kitty ever in the sun!

The bulbs are starting to come up. My office is overheating. I’d say that we’re on our way to Spring.

The downside? We were hoping to get the front room project done before it turned nice. That isn’t going to happen. Another downside? The NCAA tournament starts today. Now, I feel guilty sitting in and obsessing about basketball. But I’ll get over it. That’s what the computer and iPad is for – mobile viewing on the patio.

On Tuesday night, we went out on the back patio and visited a while after exercise class. Guess what we saw? Bats! Already! It didn’t seem like there were a lot of bugs out for their dinner. But Wednesday night, the bugs were out. We missed the sunset yesterday, so we didn’t get to see the bats. We’re hoping they stay out of the house this year. We haven’t done much patching though so there’s a chance. If a bat gets into the house, don’t worry. Oli will find it for us. Yuck.

Hope you can get outside and enjoy [in moderation] some Vitamin D.

One Last Thing off the List

I did get more accomplished than it looks like, but I knocked one more thing off the list tonight.

#4 Drink a Guinness

To be fair, it was just a sip. But that was plenty.

I still have plenty more to post about (whenever there is time – teaching two online classes, designing meal plans, plus teaching exercise classes are killing my free time) so I’m going to continue on the list. And possibly change it into a 31 Before 31. I did accomplish 17 out of the 30! 56% done!

Hoosier Hysteria

I’ve been on a mission for some new workout capris so I don’t have to do laundry after every third class.  Again, today proved fruitless.  But I did find these totally awesome pants on clearance at a TJ Maxx!  In Iowa!  Awesome!  I splurged the $7.  They will need to be brought in at the waist, but they are super cool! Maybe even teaching Zumba class cool!

Crazy Weather

On Wednesday, it was pushing 50 degrees. This morning, we wake up in a winter wonderland.

It was beautiful! But I still have wet toes from cleaning off my car. At least the highways were in good shape. Everyone was taking it pretty easy on the way to work.

I’m sure it will be gone very soon.

“If the Old Doesn’t Go, the New Doesn’t Come”

I saw this quote today and I seem to keep playing it over and over again in my head. How appropriate when I’m getting ready for a massive yard sale!

/End Random Thought of the Day

Anyone still have up Christmas decorations?

Just me? I realized today that it’s February and I still haven’t put away Christmas stuff. Can I just leave it up for next year?

I did unplug the light timer. So it’s not like they are coming on every night… they are just collecting dust.

Window Shopping

We’ve been window shopping for the new windows the past month or so. Finally, we resulted to blue painters tape so we could envision the change.

But it wasn’t working for us, so I got out Gimp and made the painter’s tape come to life.

And it wasn’t doing it for us. We needed to go bigger. Bigger side windows. Something like this.

So, we re-taped it. Loved it. And ordered them.

In 28 days, they should arrive. Good thing! We’re not ready for them yet!

Where did January go?

Seriously? I turned around and it’s gone. I’ve been super busy with my class, the front room project and exercise. The good news? I am down some weight! Whoo hoo! I’ve been counting calories with Sparkpeople and working out more at work. I’ve also been eating better calories (instead of grab those Sun Chips, I’ve been making a salad). It seems to be paying off.

I’m just super shocked that a month is already ticked off the calendar. Time just flies when you’re having fun!

18. Send flowers to someone just because

I’m so glad I put this one on my list. It was very fun to complete. I felt like a sneaky spy trying to figure out when to send these flowers. I surprised my nephew’s mom with these on Thursday. They look beautiful.

My sis was totally surprised. It was awesome! Even though I didn’t get to see her, I’m sure they made her smile too! Like I did when I got the email with a picture!

27 days later….

I get credit for installing the 2012 calendar today.  It’s in a temporary location due to the front room project.  The other location is currently occupied.

Gotta love the chaos of remodeling!
